Be specific about the place and the property

Start with the town or general area and explain whether the property is an apartment, a detached home or a home with separate outside areas. The location alone does not describe the work. Distances, access dependencies and the number of areas involved need to be considered in the proposal.

Mention any known practical constraint, such as an appointment requiring another person’s presence or a part of the property that cannot be accessed. Avoid assuming that a request for care includes every building, terrace or garden. Name the areas you want discussed so the scope can be set clearly.

Plan around the way you use the home

A seasonal home benefits from a clear transition between being occupied and being left for the next period. Before departure, identify agreed closure tasks and outstanding issues. During absence, consider the purpose and frequency of proposed visual visits.

Before your return, share an indicative arrival date and the preparation you would like to arrange. Keep the request focused on practical outcomes and confirm availability. A seasonal plan is easier to follow when departure, continuing care and arrival preparation are separate parts of the same discussion.

• During absence: which accessible areas and observations matter?
• Before return: what must be checked or coordinated for your stay?

Include outdoor areas only through a clear scope

If the home has terraces, storage or other exterior areas, describe them individually. Explain any previous visible issue you want followed up and which areas can be reached safely within the agreed visit. Specialist equipment checks or maintenance tasks require their own suitable arrangements.

An observation after a period away does not establish the cause of a problem or guarantee that every issue has been found. Useful reporting identifies what was observed, what was not accessible and whether further assessment is needed. Keep those limits visible when deciding the next step.

Agree access and follow-up before making plans

If you want help coordinating a maintenance appointment, confirm the requested role, timing and cost. Contractor work, owner approval and property access should be distinguished so a proposed appointment does not become an unintended spending instruction.

For several properties or a home with multiple buildings, identify the priorities separately. A proposal for one address or area does not automatically extend to another. Ask for a written scope that makes the visits, reporting and extra requests understandable before transferring access or booking dependent work.
